SUMMARY

ANSYS, Inc. seeks R&D Verification Engineer II to work in Canonsburg, PA and various unanticipated locations

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct software testing of ANSYS applications.
  • Assess how well the product meets customer needs both in terms of functionality and usability and ensure that product requirements and quality standards are satisfied.
  • Research new engineering features to create analytical and user scenario test cases to evaluate the functionality and performance of capabilities being added to Ansys engineering simulation software.
  • Program and maintain automated testing scripts and software tools.
  • Participate in requirements planning, design reviews and investigating defects.
  • Specify and write test cases, creates, modify and update existing tests, write and maintain test scripts.
  • Perform functional, application, regression and performance testing in manual and/or automated test environments and investigate possible causes of problems.
  • Create test plans, participate in defect management and testing metrics.
  • Apply standard techniques and procedures and comply with the company's overall development and testing processes.
  • Work in a variety of computing environments: Windows, Linux, Virtual, Compute Clusters, and Cloud.
  • Analyze requirements and develop tests suitable for new features within the MAPDL product.
  • Research literature for reference solutions.
  • Participate in design and code review, and in the planning and implementation of verification initiatives.
  • Improve and deploy testing strategies and methodologies for automation of test.
  • Work closely with other members of the product creation team and communicate with technical support specialists on product issues.
  • Coordinate with other teams to address cross team dependencies.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Civil, Structural or Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study.
  • Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Mechanical, Civil, Structural or Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study, and two (2) years of experience in a related position.
  • Work experience or academic coursework must have included:
    • Experience with Continuum/Structural Mechanics and Numerical Methods;
    • Experience with programming or scripting languages including Python, C++, C#, Jscript, or Perl;
    • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools with knowledge of finite element methods;
    • Experience performing linear and nonlinear finite element analysis;
    • Experience performing troubleshooting by simplifying complex systems, debugging, and finding root causes.
    • Telecommute work from home position
