Ansys is seeking a a highly curious, passionate, and data-driven Marketing Analytics & Operations Analyst to provide the marketing team and key stakeholders with data-driven insights that guide execution, optimization, and investment decisions. Reliable insights are only possible with complete and accurate data, so the role will also focus on developing processes to improve and maintain our data quality and hygiene. The ideal candidate possesses an in-depth reporting and data visualization background to unlock insights around marketing performance and impact across programs, strategies, investments, and datasets. This is a new role, so the ideal candidate will need to feel comfortable building the marketing analytics function from scratch: owning platform enhancements, data transformation, tagging, and building metrics and dashboards (creating bar-raising reporting experiences) for internal stakeholders. A successful candidate will have the ability to transform data into information, information into complex analytics and analytics into actionable plain language to drive business decisions.



  • This role works on all things data to support all marketing initiatives by conducting complex analysis on large sets of data, effectively communicating out of the box insights, and converting results into actionable marketing and business decisions.
  • Act as a data and analytics evangelist, pitching ideas and new concepts.
  • Contribute towards the delivery of our long-term data roadmap through introducing new data sources, visualizations, and standardization of processes.
  • Create development plans designed to acquire and utilize new data to support commercial goals and improve customer experiences.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy of data and consistency across all systems.
  • Work closely with the marketing leadership team and business stakeholders to implement standard metrics and measurement processes that result in KPIs to measure success.
  • Research and evaluate tools that allow creation of reports and dashboards that combine data across all marketing channels to better understand how activities are connected and performing.
  • Assist with managing technical aspects of marketing systems (CRM/CMS/MAT) and MDM used to generate, distribute, and report on prospects and customers.
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into technical implementation documents. 
  •  Be the team expert on pulling information across platforms,
  • Work closely with the team to generate reporting and analysis of trends and support for optimization reporting efforts.
  • Develop reports queries from databases and summarize insights for distribution to management to assist in decision-making.
  • Build KPIs and scorecards for marketing performance monitoring.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on the health of marketing performance, including pipeline contribution, program ROI, customer acquisition/penetration and activity. 
  • Set up reports/workflows to alert Sales of new leads, as well as processes to ensure timely follow-up of leads following marketing campaigns.
  • Assist with the creation of measurement plans based on strategic imperatives, engagement/lead gen, communications objectives and media strategies.
  • Detect root causes of changes in metrics and effectively communicate these insights to stakeholders and marketing leadership.
  •  Analyze and interpret trends by channels, content types, and personas and share actionable insights with senior marketing leadership and channel owners to maximize campaign performance. 
  • Look at customer interactions and events across a variety of channels to better understand customer journeys and friction points.
  • Synthesize data to make it easily digestible and create a narrative that explain the “story” behind the numbers along with actionable recommendations.
  • On a need basis, provide support for ad-hoc data & research requests.



  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, statistics, information technology, quantitative/related field or relevant field. 
  • 7+ years of experience doing hands-on analyzing and reporting on lead generation sources and metrics.
  • 3+ years experience in datasets across Salesforce CRM/lead gen, marketing automation/digital marketing, budget/finance, and work management capacity planning.
  • In-depth reporting knowledge of Salesforce objects (lead/contact, opportunity, account, etc.).
  • Extensive knowledge of qualitative and quantitative analytics techniques, with the end goal of providing comprehensive end-to-end view of marketing performance and market opportunities. 
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, data analysis, and segmentation techniques.
  • Possess strong communication and presentation skills - passionate about storytelling via data.
  •  Ability to conduct sophisticated and creative analysis of complex data and translate the results into actionable deliverables, messages, and presentations
  • Establish and maintain metrics reporting for sales and marketing activities and effectiveness.
  • Strong reporting and analysis skills with ingenuity to provide scalable reporting. 
  •  Ability and experience analyzing and interpreting marketing data to draw conclusions.
  • Ability to identify trends and escalate possible opportunities and gaps is very important.
  • Demonstrate strong decision-making skills and the ability to readily adapt to changing market and organizational requirements.
  • Critical thinker, ability to creatively solve problems, deal with ambiguity and a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and law.
  • Strong attention to detail.


  • Knowledge of statistical modeling techniques, segmentation, research, lifetime value, ROI, a plus.
  • SQL, HTML/CSS and web CMS knowledge; Basic R or Python skills.
  • Experience with BI tools highly desirable (PowerBI, Tableau) as is experience across multiple areas of web optimization, including web analytics, personalization, A/B and multivariate testing.
  • Deep understanding of marketing technology stacks, including tag management systems, ad serving platforms, DMPs and ETL processes and systems integration
  • Working knowledge of online marketing including PPC, SEO, display, social, etc. Experience integrating web analytics with marketing automation a plus.
