SUMMARY

The Ansys Granta Solution Architect is responsible for leveraging Materials Engineering and Product Development knowledge to design enterprise-level solutions to enable customers’ digital transformation primarily thru the deployment of Ansys Materials Lifecycle Management “Granta” technologies and secondarily thru Ansys Simulation technologies throughout the customers’ Research & Development (R&D) and Product Development (PD) process.

 

This position will work closely with upstream Ansys Technical Pre-Sales Engineers and downstream Implementation Consultants to provide solution crafting, feasibility review, consultative and deployment support in the implementation and integration of Ansys Granta technologies into the customer’s R&D and PD environment, typically integrating with LIMS, CAD, CAE, CAM, PLM, and ERP.

 

Successful candidates will also work with Ansys product development to understand and influence product capabilities and roadmaps and should have a passion for applying technology to deliver solutions that help customers engineer better products.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Lead and assist in coordinating and executing solution centric technical activities in the sales pursuit and deployment of Ansys Granta enterprise integrations with LIMS, CAD, CAE, CAM, PLM, and ERP.

•Attend customer technical meetings, provide solution architecture consultative support and/or presentations.

•Analyze business and technical needs, requirements, and the state of a customer’s current infrastructure, technical R&D operations, and engineering workflows.

•Promote Ansys Granta as the materials foundation database to build a customer’s digital transformation that enables accurate design and simulation processes.

•Participate in internal corporate initiatives to further enhance the solution suites, presales/sales enablement and professional growth.

•Articulate the Ansys Platform value proposition (Materials, Process Improvement and Design Optimization (PIDO), Simulation data management).

•Create elegant and useful solutions to solve complex business problems by working across various teams and understanding the needs of customers.

•Be a team player who can collaborate effectively with all key Ansys and customer stakeholders with a range of technical competency, including sales, product development, project management, implementation engineers, software engineers, and end users.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical discipline.

•A minimum of 5 years of experience, including post-BS academic experience, in an engineering environment.

•A minimum of 3 years manager-level or Senior Engineer level work experience as an application engineer, customer support, customer consulting services, or related customer facing activities.

•Experience with enterprise product development systems, e.g. PLM, ERP.

•Experience with one or more scripting or programming languages, preferably including Python, VBA, XSLT, and a demonstrated ability to learn new languages as required.

•Experience as a Business Analyst.

•Knowledge or experience with relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAD, CAE, PIDO, tools software packages.

•Familiarity with materials science, materials or mechanical engineering, or other STEM field.

•Is considered a subject matter expert and recognized within the Sector/Country or Division in at least one relevant discipline within our business and is sought out for counsel and advice by other engineers within Ansys and/or by industry experts.

•Demonstrated understanding of engineering practices and product development, technology and how these tools are used by our customers.

•Ability to manage multiple projects which are complex in nature and coordinate colleagues across diverse teams and locations.

•Ability to facilitate customer requirements process and then work with customer to build out those requirements.

•Strong verbal and written communication skills.

•Strong leadership and mentoring skills.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• MS, PhD degree a plus.

• Experience as a Materials Engineer .

• Experience with Granta MI or similar technology.

•A minimum of 5 years manager-level or Senior Engineer level work experience as an application engineer, customer support, customer consulting services, or related customer facing activities.

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in an engineering software environment.

• Must have passion and drive for personal technical excellence and high performance.

• Must have customer service aptitude and maintain customer focus.

• Ability to travel up to 25% (after COVID-19 travel restrictions).
