SUMMARY

ANSYS, Inc. seeks Application Engineer II Systems and Platform to work in Canonsburg, PA and various unanticipated locations

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with customers to engineer what's ahead, solve their real-world engineering problems, deploy Ansys software in their design workflows, and grow Ansys’ business.
  • As a hands-on expert in Ansys products, use advanced-level engineering knowledge to provide technical pre-sales support, perform professional services, and help translate customer requirements into exciting new product features.
  • Work within multi-disciplinary teams to advance knowledge, experience, and business impact.
  • Specific job duties include: Lead/Assist in coordinating and executing all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle such as technical discovery, product presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations;
  • As a product expert with one or more Ansys systems and platform products, work with customers to understand their system-level engineering requirements;
  • Analyze how to address customers’ requirements using Ansys systems and platform products;
  • Articulate Ansys’ value proposition;
  • Develop and implement holistic system-level and/or platform-based solutions and workflows by leveraging technologies and disciplines such as tool integration, model-based systems engineering, simulation process and data management, design exploration and optimization, material data management, and digital mission engineering;
  • Collaborate closely with other Ansys Customer Excellence teams and customers to integrate their multi-fidelity analytical models and/or tools in system-level and platform-based solutions;
  • Operate as part of a dynamic team of engineers, software developers and business professionals to assist customers in performing analyses, solving problems, and integrating and deploying custom solutions;
  • Collaborate with the Ansys product development teams to translate customer requirements into exciting new product features;
  • Test new releases of Ansys products on industrial problems;
  • Support Ansys field and digital marketing; and
  • Contribute to consulting services, conduct introductory and/or intermediate training classes.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Physics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field of study.
  • Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Physics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field of study, and two (2) years of experience in a related position.
  • Work experience or academic coursework must have included:
    • Experience in commercial CAE, CAD, and PLM software packages including Ansys 3D physics simulation products Fluent and Mechanical
    • Experience with multi-physics simulation workflow development, automation, and optimization
    • Experience with engineering design optimization platforms and algorithms in software packages such as Ansys optiSLang, Ansys ModelCenter, or equivalent;
    • Knowledge of reduced order modeling in engineering modeling and simulation of response surfaces and surrogate models;
    • Experience with systems engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies;
    • Proficiency with engineering programing and scripting including Python or C/C++.
    • Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of time.
    • Additional work location information: Telecommuting permitted from anywhere within the US.
