Summary / Role Purpose

You will be part of a technical documentation team responsible for writing user assistance for Granta MI, Granta Selector, and Granta EduPack, the Ansys Granta materials information management products. This includes application help, tutorials, and short instructional videos for end users, reference documentation for admins, and API documentation for developers, as well as microcopy/user interface text.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create help, tutorials, videos, reference documentation, API documentation, and microcopy for Ansys Granta products. Update and revise previously-released content to ensure it remains accurate and up-to-date.
  • Work with Product Owners, Product Managers, Software Developers, and technical experts to understand the user assistance requirements for new products, and software enhancements or changes in existing products.
  • Verify user assistance through hands-on testing.
  • Gain expertise in the Ansys software products you cover, and understand the customer use cases that drive their development.
  • Provide UX feedback/ideas on how to improve design issues in the software you are documenting.
  • Gain expertise in Ansys documentation tools, processes, and procedures.
  • Work under some supervision

 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • B.Sc in Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communication, or with 2 years’ relevant experience. Or, relevant Master’s degree with no experience.
  • Fluency in English, along with excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources, paying close attention to detail 
  • Capacity to develop user-centric documentation ensuring a high level of quality, consistency, and accuracy
  • Comfort in managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, geographically diverse environment
  • This position does not qualify for immigration sponsorship

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Familiarity with Ansys products
  • Familiarity with the concepts of documentation authoring, common project management software, version control, and structured documentation, as well as build tools, oXygen, DITA, XML, Git, Camtasia, user-centered design processes, and agile development methodologies 
  • Experience determining the best method in which to present information and then creating the appropriate outputs, such as topic-based help, videos, tutorials, graphics, and interactive learning systems
