Summary / Role Purpose
A Senior Application Engineer - Functional Safety Aerospace aspires to apply their skills to the exciting and critical growth area of functional safety & cybersecurity risk analysis to the aerospace & defense vertical domain.  The successful candidate aims to become an expert in functional safety processes and safety by design to help drive innovation and development of safety critical systems. Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Acquire and grow the skills through internal training required of functional safety experts aerospace & defense safety critical systems utilizing the leading functional safety support tool Ansys medini analyze.
  • Deploy these skills to consult, develop and support customer evaluations and advise our clients on the system implementation while following applicable technical standards (e.g. SAE ARP 4761, ARP 4754A, MIL 882, etc.).  This includes development of safety cases, creation of safety management plans, provide guidance on processes, design safety work products jointly with our customers and utilizing medini analyze.
  • Define, develop, and advise on new architectures and detailed designs for current and emerging systems.
  • Deliver safe, viable and robust medini product solutions to customers.
  • Build strong relationships with partners effectively leveraging their products to deliver complete safety analysis solutions.
  • Be an integral player in building a strong and cohesive Ansys team capable of successfully deploying our full set of product solutions.

 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Advanced degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Embedded System Development or Aerospace Systems Engineering.
  • Good communication skills and being comfortable working face-to-face with clients on new and challenging tasks.
  • Ability to orchestrate and organize complex system models and safety requirements
  • Experience in model-based systems engineering techniques such as UML/SysML languages.
  • Awareness of industry standards and regulatory frameworks concerning the design and development of aerospace & defense systems including SAE ARP4761, MIL 882, IEC 61508, etc..
  • Experience in applying tools and technologies for the development, design and analysis of functional and technical safety concepts.
  • Utmost integrity and professionalism in handling all business matters.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork and the success as a team.
