Summary / Role Purpose

The System Administrator role is responsible for providing on-site and remote IT support to Ansys users globally. The candidate will be responsible to provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware. The candidate will also have vendor management responsibilities related to Hardware and Software assets.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as a site contact for any IT related queries / issues from the users
  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware
  • Respond to queries either in person or over email / phone / ITSM systems
  • Walk customer through problem-solving process
  • Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software
  • Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems
  • Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems
  • Install computer peripherals for users
  • Follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved
  • Thorough understanding of Desktop Operating systems along with experience in handling related Hardware (Docking Stations / Printers / other external peripherals etc.)

 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in science or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Min 3 years
  • Incident Management experience- experience working with Service Now highly preferred
  • Should have good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of customer service practices.
  • User support experience, including remote support.

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating system, Active Directory / Azure Active Directory, TCP/IP, LAN, DNS and DHCP Protocols, Microsoft office tools.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Patching, SCCM, WSUS, Intune management etc.
  • Microsoft certifications like MCSE is preferred.
