Summary / Role Purpose

Ansys Semiconductor Business Unit is leading EDA simulation software provider for addressing top challenges in Power, Noise, Reliability domain through its industry standard tools like RedHawk, Totem, PowerArtist, etc. As Product Specialist Manager, you will be leading a team helping R&D team and Field Application Engineering team develop spec, design, test and deploy state of the art Ansys EDA products across all top Semiconductor companies. You will be responsible for Product Engineering and Expert Product Support. Key focus areas will include all areas related to IP/SoC/3DIC Power Integrity, Signal Integrity, Reliability aspects like EM/ESD/Thermal, Advanced timing/jitter, Packaging – the top challenges for any chip design on advanced nodes like 7/5/3 nm. You will be part of RedHawk-SC team.  RedHawk-SC is designed on Ansys-Seascape platform - Semiconductor Industry’s First and Only True Big-Data design Platform!


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Product Specialist Manager discharges 2 responsibilities – Product Engineering and Expert Support for Field Application Team that support customers.
  • In this Product Engineering role, PS Manager will use expertise to develop product spec for R&D, negotiate success criteria with Field Application Engineering team and provide refined requirements to drive exciting new product features to meet business objectives.
  • Under Product Engineering, the Product Specialist Manager leads a team of engineers in testing and deployment of EDA software products created by R&D team
  • The PS Manager leads a team of engineers who help Field Application Engineers solve complex problems at customer end by acting as Product Experts and by acting like a First Response team by coordinating with R&D. This role is similar to Corporate Application Engineering (CAE) team where Product Experts solve complex problems.
  • The PS Manager must have competence in a product area and be recognized as a regional expert
  • Work independently and as a member of a team and lead/motivate others
  • Manage and mentor people at junior levels
  • Provide neat, accurate, and thorough work from team in a timely manner
  • Complete assignments without specific directions, recognize problems, and apply or suggest viable solutions


Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • BS/MS in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field with 8+ years experience
  • Relevant experience in IR/ EM analysis in RedHawk/RedHawk-SC or equivalent tools
  • Familiar with VLSI design flows towards RTL design, simulation, synthesis, timing and power
  • Proven track record of leading group of technical engineers or having similar skill set. Can be person leading engineers and playing a major role in ASIC design tapeout , especially in IR/EM analysis.
  • Solid programming skills on languages like Perl, TCL, Python is added advantage.


Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to translate product spec into testing plans
  • Ability to drive field testing for products and summarize the testing results.
  • Ability to overcome obstacles and drive projects to completion
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and Strong people management and leadership skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies, and to mentor junior engineers
