Summary / Role Purpose
The Senior Licensing Consultant (SLC) is an expert regarding software license agreements, technologies, software asset management, audits, and license advisories. The SLC will typically support strategic and enterprise accounts working with internal and external auditors. SLC, among other responsibilities, will independently manage license reviews, advisories, educate customers, sales, and channel partners on Ansys’ licensing terms and licensing. The SLC will be considered a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Ansys contracts and licensing. A strong customer service mindset is required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Data analysis will be a daily activity for the SLC. Bringing data together from a variety of sources, the SLC should be a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who works well independently or as a global team player to get the job done accurately.
- Manage all stakeholders in the compliance process, both internal and external from beginning to end of a variety of projects. The SLC will liaise with and coordinate all phases of activities with the internal and external auditors and is expected to be a leader in role.
- Maintain and improve the software audit program. Ansys is always growing and improving our work with our teams for our customers. The SLC is a multifaceted individual who will be expected to reach across the organization to ensure accuracy and success. SLC will work with many teams within Ansys to make sure this program is aligned with the overall company strategy and consistent with our customer philosophy. They pride themselves on how accurate their work is.
- Accuracy and attention to detail in document preparation. Following existing processes, the SLC will work independently or with the extended team, to prepare or review any deliverables in a professional and accurate presentation manner. SLC should always be looking to refine and improve existing processes – a creative approach to improving our business is encouraged.

We work together to build a highly functioning team that readily shares information with other parts of our organization, partners and provides exemplary customer service. SLC should be comfortable presenting to mid-sized groups about Ansys licensing for both customer and internal knowledge transfer.
SLC should be able to independently and effectively manage all phases of a variety of projects in a timely manner. A background in sales, customer service, strategy, and/or negotiation is valued.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
- Education & Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree with an engineering, business or legal focus with 7+ years of work experience in a License Compliance role with a multi-national software company OR 9+ years of work experience in a License Compliance role with a multi-national software company
- Strong experience in Ansys contracts and licensing
- Customer service oriented.
- Strong communications skills with ability to discuss Ansys licensing to all levels of customer organizations including executives.
- Strong analytical skills and adept at learning new IT skills
- Demonstrated integrity and confidentiality with an open mindset
- Ability to foster teamwork
- Organized, independent, and goal oriented
- Fluent in English (required as this role with global reach) and in the local language of the territory
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in License Compliance, Software License Agreements, Software Asset Management, Software Audits, Negotiations, Strategy, and/or Data Analytics
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or Law
