The Account Representative will increase new and existing business by adapting ANSYS Reliability Engineering Services (RES) consultative engineering solutions to meet customer requests conveyed in RFIs / RFPs. Focus should be placed on prioritizing initiatives where ANSYS simulation products and solutions enable a customers’ engineering teams and product development processes, ultimately helping customers develop new products and improve existing products and processes. The Account Representative is responsible for all sales activities, from developing new customers through generation of new contacts, to responding to the technical elements of RFIs / RFPs with both the ANSYS RES engineering team and the customer’s engineering team(s). They are responsible for maximizing sales profitability, growth, and account penetration. The role sells ANSYS Reliability Engineering Services, which is a specialized, electronics-reliability focused engineering organization at ANSYS. A successful Account Representative  creates a long-term strategy, and helps customers realize the greatest possible ROI and to meet their needs and objectives, both short-term and long.


  • Performs sales activities, establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current and/or prospective customers to maintain renewal business and generate new business for the RES product line to achieve or exceed revenue objectives​.
  • Create and run customer calls to focus on customers required capabilities to match their positive business outcomes. ​
  • Remain knowledgeable about all Ansys RES offerings.
  • Research sources for developing current and prospective customers to determine their potential.
  • Manage a queue of inbound leads.​
  • Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers​ as requests arise.
  • Create and maintain account plans for existing customers, especially for high value customers​.
  • Lead coordination of sales efforts with RES engineering staff, Ansys account teams, sales management, accounting, legal and technical services groups globally​.
  • Maintain accurate sales data and reports within the Salesforce CRM​.
  • Provide accurate forecasts for new sales and opportunities​. 


  • Bachelor’s degree in technical, engineering, business or related field with 1+ years of experience of demonstrated success in a sales position OR 5+ years of experience demonstrated success in technical sales positions.
  • Demonstrates understanding of engineering, preferably with background in an engineering field​.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work as a part of a team.
  • Ability to write 5-10 proposals for customers each week. 
  • Travel: up to 50%


  • Demonstrated knowledge of electronics reliability / durability challenges​
  • Knowledge or interest in electronics and / or technology
  • Ability to present to multiple staff classifications: from engineers, to managers, to the VP-level, and beyond
