Thus, through our enriching internship program, we help developing the next-generation of engineers and technologists. As an Additive Manufacturing Simulation Intern, you will be highly focused on developing our industry-leading simulation capabilities for Additive Manufacturing (AM) processes.
 
This is a 40-hour per week paid remote position, starting in May 2023 and concluding August 2023.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Work with the AM development team to advance the research of AM thermal analyses
•    Develop and mature our capabilities to simulate a LPBF process with multiple process parameters  
•    Drive new algorithm development to push simulation speed and improve code infrastructure 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•    Pursuing MS/PhD in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, computational electromagnetics, numerical methods, circuit simulation, device modeling or related technical field and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher
•    Must be currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship
•    Experience with Metal Additive Manufacturing Processes (LPBF, DED, Binder jetting sintering etc.) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) 
•    Hands-on experience with multiscale thermal modeling, parallelization, and code infrastructure design
•    Experience with software development using Python and C++ 
•    Team player, responsible, and motivated
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•    Familiar with Ansys Workbench and Mechanical
•    Experience with non-linear simulation using non-linear material properties
•    Familiar with analytical approaches of thermal simulation for a LPBF process
