SUMMARY
The R&D Engineer II contributes to the development of software products and supporting systems. In this role, the R&D Engineer II will collaborate with a team of expert professionals to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives.   

 

Ansys RedHawk-SC Electrothermal offer a multiphysics solution and is the proven industry leader for analyzing 3DIC and multi-die chip packages and interconnects for power integrity, parasitic extraction, thermal behavior, and thermo-mechanical stress. It works together with the RedHawk-SC power integrity platform and is foundry certified for integrated fanout and silicon interposer technologies. RedHawk-SC Electrothermal enables creation of high-performance SoCs that are power efficient and reliable against thermal, electromigration (EM) and electrostatic discharge (ESD) issues for markets such as mobile, communications, high-performance computing, automotive and internet of things (IoT). RedHawk-SC Electrothermal meets the challenges of today’s complex 2.5D/3D IC packages with a comprehensive multiphysics approach that unifies electrical and thermal analysis at the chip, board and system levels.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems
  • Understands and employs best practices
  • Performs moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions
  • Understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues
  • Works under the general supervision of a development manager

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 2 years’ experience or MS
  • Working experience with C or C++ with broad and deep understanding of the language.        

              

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical knowledge and experience with object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, linear algebra and high-performance computing
  • Experience in a large-scale commercial software development environment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
  • Experience in optimizing large scale software for memory and run time..
  • Development, debugging and optimization of systems using distributed processing.
  • Experience with the Tcl or Python programming language
  • Knowledge of Power and Thermal integrity concepts and analysis methods
