Summary / Role Purpose
Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team to direct the activities of a broad functional area via senior managers/managers, solve customers’ real-world engineering problems and grow Ansys’ business. In this role, you will direct a team delivering technical application engineering support, product support and professional services, and will collaborate with the Ansys product development leadership team to guide Ansys product roadmap. You will be working in a management capacity within a cross regional / multi-disciplinary teams to leverage your leadership skills to deliver business impact.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct and control the activities of a broad functional area via senior managers/managers in one product area to drive significant business impact
- Participate with other Ansys Customer Excellence stakeholders to develop strategic plans and objectives
- Direct the team in executing all technical activities throughout the customer lifecycle such as technical discovery, product presentations, demonstrations, evaluations, deployments, training and technical support to maintain and grow Ansys revenue
- Engage with key customer stakeholders, such as directors / VPs, to establish the Ansys value proposition, understand their product design needs, develop and implement best simulation practices to improve customer efficiency
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategy for services offerings, including consulting and assessments that uncover customer challenges and accelerate simulation adoption.
- Build and manage a pipeline of strategic consulting-led engagements that lead to software adoption, service revenue, and long-term client success.
- Present technical results and recommendations to executive-level customer stakeholders, effectively translating findings into business value.
- Partner with area sales directors to review opportunities, forecast, build pipeline, prioritize engineering resources, develop ideas and support execution of business maintenance and growth initiatives
- Help guide complex customer engagements to successful outcomes using subject matter expertise and industry knowledge
- Lead and participate in the development and mentoring of team members, including, but not limited to, providing the team with effective guidance to support key goals, recruiting top talent, establishing cross product / sub-region collaboration, and professional growth
- Develop methods to improve operations and lead the effective implementation of resulting changes within the team
- Collaborate with the Ansys product development leadership team to guide Ansys product roadmap
- Lead and contribute to Ansys corporate initiatives
- Contribute to merger and acquisition integration of customer-facing technical teams and processes, and go to market strategy
- Practice and promote One Ansys culture
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
- Required education and degree type: BS or MS or PhD in engineering and/or business or related field
- Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+12, MS+9, or PhD+7
- Proven leadership experience in an engineering software or industry environment
- Strong organizational, leadership and mentoring skills; ability to lead complex organizations. Ability to coordinate with colleagues across geographically diverse locations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, logical problem-solving, fluent in writing and speaking English
- Projects a professional image, fosters teamwork, and demonstrates business acumen
- Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of time
- Demonstrated skills in managing software implementation lifecycles, including the project financials and scope while developing strong customer relationships and outstanding customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of assessment design principles and practices.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BE/BTECH +12, ME/MTECH +10, or PhD+7
- 6 years of experience in Program Management with an enterprise software and technology deployment focus
- Experience and/or background with Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages
- Ability to travel domestically up to 50% of time
- Ability to travel internationally
- Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives
- Strategic Program Certifications, such as Six Sigma Black Belt is a plus
