Job Summary:

 

The Microsoft Solutions Architect has responsibility for ensuring the business requirements for Microsoft products are successfully delivered by IT projects.  The Architect, in conjunction with other stakeholders, manages the demand pipeline, builds a case for change, translates business requirements in to specifications, then develops designs that conform to the specification.  Once delivery is complete the Architect builds strong relationships with operations teams to ensure any operational concerns are linked back to the future pipeline.

As a Microsoft Solutions Architect you will demonstrate a strong commitment to innovation and a passion for driving the business technology horizon forward.  You will have outstanding communication, presentation and collaboration skills.  You will possess in-depth technical and business value knowledge of Microsoft solutions. You will contribute to our knowledge and skills base best practices as we deploy networking technologies to create a dramatically more personal, integrated computing experience. The Microsoft Solutions Architect will be responsible for the analysis, design, and implementation of voice and data networking solutions in a global enterprise environment. A successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate proficiency with the design, implementation and support of Microsoft technologies and exhibit strong project management and communication skills.
 

Essential Functions

 

●    Leads strategy, best practices and architecture in the design, development and deployment of scalable and secure Microsoft solutions
●    Management of stakeholders, setting expectations on delivery and scope
●    Manage the technology pipeline, aligning priorities and schedules with business expectations, resources and dependencies
●    Contribute to resource planning activities, providing detailed estimates for effort, platform and ongoing costs
●    Lead the integration and automation architecture for Ansys IT internal systems
●    Take ownership of issues, using sound judgement to propel issues to resolution 
●    Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert on projects, overseeing the work of others and being accountable for the quality goals of the project
●    Take the lead on the design of Microsoft related technology solutions 
●    Work with peers and SMEs to create complete solutions designs 
●    Engage peers to review your project artefacts, incorporate feedback and refine outputs accordingly
●    Offer reviews of activities in both operations and the business 
●    Develop and communicate task level detail for project plans
●    Develop architectural standards, blueprints, building blocks and patterns
●    Prepare budgetary recommendations as needed
●    Must be able to effectively coordinate and multi-task across various groups and functional teams both inside and outside of the organization.
●    Mentor peers in proper vendor-certified techniques, methods, standards and processes
●    Provide leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication.
●    Own the technical relationship between Ansys and Microsoft, communicating changes in Microsoft product roadmaps, best practice and deployment patterns within Ansys.
 

Job Minimum Requirements

●    Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, management disciplines, or related field
●    5+ years of systems design experience 
●    8+ years of experience in technical roles; working with service based solutions, designing and working with enterprise implementations
●    Experience of integration and automation initiatives orchestrated around CMDB platforms, e.g. ServiceNow
●    Candidates must have advanced understanding of the following: Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server products, DNS, DHCP, Powershell, Group Policy, Microsoft Azure cloud services, identity management, Azure SSO, server/client model, and life cycle management
●    Hands-on design and implementation planning for Microsoft solutions including integration, security, governance and compliance solutions in Azure and Office 365
●    Experience deploying and managing digital certificates and certificate authority
●    Adapt and learn quickly; keeping pace with the rapid changes in the IT industry particularly in productivity, collaboration, and cloud
●    Proven problem analysis and critical thinking skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills
●    Ability to balance multiple priorities in pressure situations
●    Thorough knowledge of project management techniques and success factors 
●    Demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills.  Able to manage the expectations of customers as well as influence senior stakeholders
●    Experience of creating high quality documentation and solution architecture artefacts
